Packaging, Logistics & Trading Terms

How we package, certify and ship bulk hydrated lime. Terms can be adapted by agreement — tell us what your operation needs.

Minimum Order Quantity
1 × 20 ft container (approx. 25 MT) bagged. 500 MT minimum for bulk vessel. Trial quantities available for qualification.
Packaging
20–25 kg PP bags · 1 MT woven jumbo bags · palletised and shrink-wrapped on request. Moisture-proof PE lining recommended — hydrated lime is hygroscopic.
Incoterms & Loading Ports
EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF (Incoterms® 2020). Standard loading Bandar Abbas / Bandar Imam Khomeini; other ports by arrangement.
Quality Certification
Batch-specific CoA with every shipment covering Ca(OH)₂, available CaO, LOI and sieve residue. Food-grade shipments include heavy-metals analysis.
Lead Time
7–14 days for standard grades after order confirmation; 15–25 days for custom-milled, food-grade or specially packed material.
Storage & Shelf Life
Keep bags sealed in a dry, covered place. Hydrated lime slowly carbonates in open air, reducing available Ca(OH)₂. Shelf life up to 2 years when stored correctly.

Hydrated Lime — Frequently Asked Questions

What Ca(OH)₂ purity levels do you offer?
Our hydrated lime runs from 88–90% Ca(OH)₂ in the economy construction grade, up to 95–96.5% in the special 400 mesh grade, and 95–100.5% in the ultra-pure food and sugar refining grade. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis accompanies every shipment.
Do you supply food-grade calcium hydroxide?
Yes. Our Ultra-Pure grade is produced to food and sugar-refining purity limits with controlled heavy metals: arsenic and lead each ≤ 2 mg/kg, total heavy metals (as Pb) ≤ 10 mg/kg, acid insolubles ≤ 0.10% and sieve residue on 325 mesh ≤ 0.40%.
Which hydrated lime grade is best for water treatment?
For municipal and industrial water treatment we recommend the Special 400 mesh grade. Its fineness gives rapid dispersion and a high reactive surface area, so less product is needed for the same pH correction and it leaves minimal grit in dosing equipment.
How is hydrated lime packed and shipped?
20–25 kg bags or 1 MT jumbo bags, palletised and shrink-wrapped on request. Because hydrated lime is hygroscopic we recommend moisture-proof PE-lined bags for humid destinations and long sea transit.
What is the shelf life of hydrated lime?
Up to 2 years when stored in a dry, covered place in sealed bags. Hydrated lime slowly reacts with atmospheric carbon dioxide to form calcium carbonate, which reduces available Ca(OH)₂, so keeping bags sealed matters.
Should I use hydrated lime or quicklime?
Use hydrated lime where handling safety, immediate dispersion and simple dosing matter — it is already slaked and stable. Use quicklime (CaO) where you have slaking equipment and want more available alkalinity per tonne shipped.
